Zuzana Hlavatá *1985 is an illustrator and artist, she studied promotional art at the School of Design in Bratislava, where she began to devote herself to illustrations and book design. In 2004, she created her 1st author’s book, with which in Italy she won the III. prize in the book competition LIBRI MAI MAI VISTI – books never seen, where a few years later she won the Arts & Crafts prize for the book miniature Girl with Matches. She received her university education at VŠMU, majoring in Puppet Scenography and Technology. She currently lives and works in Galanta. Most of her illustrations are plant studies, herbarium and pomological sheets, whether for books such as Health from Herbs, Forgotten Herbs and Little Known Herbs, or illustrations of trees and flowers for packaging and SAV labels. In addition to natural history illustrations, she also creates illustrations for the little ones, in which her most faithful 13-year-old companion, the dachshund Saša, often gets involved.
