Simona Smatana (Simona Čechová) comes from Trnava, where she currently creates. She prefers to draw with crayons and, in addition to illustration, she enjoys beekeeping. She participated in countless foreign and Slovak exhibitions and festivals. She illustrated books for the Monokel publishing house, such as Hovnivál Hugo, Eliška is not a ghost, František z komposto, and has many interesting collaborations in her portfolio. We currently have the theme “Špajzka” available from Simona, while we already have several excellent collaborations and in the past we created the theme “Morning in the city” together.
“The illustrations on Pucla reflect my return to my childhood, when I liked to explore the corners of my grandmother’s house, the cellar, the attic, the pantry, where my grandmother hid all the goodies and boxes with “treasures”, where my grandfather made his wine and honey alcohol and secretly let us taste it :).”
